Dress code?

We of course want you to wear what is most comfortable for you, but below are some suggestions!

For the welcome party: dressy casual attire. Men: light dress shirts with khaki or other lightweight slacks, jackets and ties optional; Women: sundresses or lightweight separates.

For the ceremony and reception: formal attire. Please keep in mind that both the reception & ceremony will take place outdoors, including some parts on a grass lawn. Men: suits in any color; Women: long or knee-length cocktail or formal dresses or jumpsuits.

What should I expect for weather?

Seattle summers are famous for their unfailing sunshine (no sarcasm here!) and consistent 75 degree highs. However, many things are changing these days and heat waves (90+ degrees) are more and more likely. The biggest risk is air quality- August is prime wildfire season on the West Coast. We hope for clear skies but realistically should not be surprised by some haze.

Do I need a rental car?

We are staunch urbanists who think that no, if you are not planning to explore outside the city, you do not need a rental car to have an amazing weekend in Seattle and get to our event venues. That’s a big reason we chose to keep things in the city! See “Planning Your Stay” for more info.
